A Message from Our Friend, the Bright Yellow Golf Ball

DSC_2685Dear Friends,

Each summer, I sit in the yellow rack at the Miniature Golf Hut waiting to roll around on the putting greens. I have been rolling around on the greens for 51 years.

That’s right, miniature golf is a long-time family tradition at Lakeside Chautauqua. It’s amazing to see the families reconnect, enjoy the slow pace and share in youthful fun at Lakeside.

The adults are very competitive, trying to get me in the hole on the first shot. Many families gather for tournaments, so my other bright yellow, orange and green friends and I get to play on all 18 holes for the entire afternoon. Seeing grandparents play against their grandchildren is the most cherished time.

From my view as I roll around, the course needs to be refreshed. The putting greens are not as crisp and the bummers need to be fixed. The different obstacles also need to be evaluated on each hole.

I heard that Lakeside Chautauqua is partnering with the #GivingTuesday movement and will introduce an initiative that supports refreshing the miniature golf course.

I am joining the initiative and supporting the renovation. Will you join me by giving a gift on December 2, 2014? I can’t wait for my first hole-in-one after the course is refreshed. The experience for the families will be incredible.

See you on the green this summer.
