Lakeside Chautauqua’s programming is built upon four pillars: religion, education, cultural arts and recreation. At the heart of the Lakeside Chautauqua experience is the religion pillar, fostering faith in the Christian tradition.
The religion pillar is administered by the Religious Life Department, which coordinates a number of programs and activities, including four Sunday Worship Services, Faith for Living Hour, Sunset Vespers by the Lake, Children’s Ministries (Children’s Church, God Squad, Middle Grade Madness, Teen Connect and College Station), Interfaith Week, Wednesday Night Family Picnics and more.
Each week during the summer, Lakeside invites preachers from across the world to live in residence as part of the Preacher of the Week program. The preachers share a message with the community at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Hoover Community Worship Service, as well as at the Faith for Living Hour, from 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Monday-Thursday.
