Lakeside Chautauqua has prepared another remarkable lineup of performers and entertainers to celebrate the 2015 summer season.
The Sounds of Sousa will open Memorial Day weekend festivities in Lakeside with a concert on Friday, May 22.
The holiday weekend entertainment continues with the return of “Let’s Hang On!” Frankie Valli Tribute Show on Saturday, May 23. The tribute show will lead the audience through the career of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, a popular group from the 1960s and the musical, Jersey Boys.
The following night, Jack Hanna “Into the Wild – Live” (pictured left) will bring a family adventure to Lakesiders, featuring a variety of wildlife and animals.
To provide additional opportunities for enrichment to guests, Lakeside has added Chautauqua programming the last weekend of May, known as the 2015 Bonus Weekend. On Saturday, May 30, the 1970s band Ambrosia will rock the Hoover stage with hits “How Much I Feel,” “Biggest Part Of Me” and “You’re The Only Woman.”
To open the official Chautauqua programming season on Saturday, June 20, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. will perform hits by The 5th Dimension, as well as their popular duets, including “You Don’t Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show)” and “Your Love.”
The OSU Alumni Band will return to Lakeside for their 37th consecutive performance on Saturday, June 27. The band is the largest all brass and percussion college alumni band in the U.S. Fan favorites, such as “Buckeye Battlecry” and “Hang on Sloopy,” will be played, along with other jazz music, marches and Big Band hits.
Back by popular demand, the Golden Dragon Acrobats will combine award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes and theatrical techniques in a program that will excite all ages on Friday, July 10.
This summer, Lakeside is pleased to welcome Taylor Dayne (pictured right) to the Hoover stage on Saturday, July 11. This Grammy-nominated pop star will perform her famous singles, including “Tell It To My Heart,” “Love Will Lead You Back” and “Prove Your Love.”
During the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show & Plein Air Art Festival weekend, the most awarded female vocalist in Christian music history, Sandi Patty, will share the stage with members of her talented family on Friday, July 17.
Then, on Saturday, July 18, legendary 1980s band, Three Dog Night, will rock the Hoover Auditorium stage with their chart-topping hits “Mama Told Me (Not to Come),” “Joy to the World,” “One” and many more.
As the summer continues, five-time Grammy Award-winning Christian pop/rock singer, Steven Curtis Chapman (picture left), will perform “His Eyes,” “Cinderella” and “Glorious Unfolding” for the first time in Lakeside on Saturday, July 25.
Continuing an annual tradition, the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra will play eight concerts from Wednesday, July 29 to Friday, Aug. 21. The symphony will highlight several soloists, perform a concert with Pointe of Departure Ballet and celebrate Music Director Robert Cronquist’s 45th year with the symphony.
On Friday, July 31, Anson Williams and Donny Most, best known from their roles as Potsie Weber and Ralph Malph from America’s hit television series, “Happy Days,” will discuss heartwarming and funny stories from their time on television.
One of the funniest shows of the season will feature Tim Hawkins, a family-friendly comedian known for his witty song parodies, on Saturday, Aug. 8.
The final weeks of the summer will highlight talented artists, such as the popular Australian group Little River Band on Saturday, Aug. 15 and a “Summer Serenade” with Jim Brickman & Pavlo on Saturday, Aug. 22.
Lakeside favorite, Mike Albert & the Big “E” Band, will rock the Hoover Auditorium stage on Saturday, Aug. 29. Albert is known worldwide for his respectful portrayal of Elvis Presley with his “Ultimate Tribute” show.
The Motortown All-Stars, a mix of all-star vocalists from former legendary groups, will perform soulful favorites over Labor Day weekend on Saturday, Sept. 5. Their show is jam-packed with choreography and harmonies, capturing the true sounds of Motown.
Finally, the last concert of the season will feature a return performance by America’s premiere “Rock ‘N R’oldies” group, Phil Dirt & the Dozers, on Sunday, Sept. 6.
