What will Your Family Discover this Summer at Lakeside?

Each year, thousands of families grow closer and make special memories together at Lakeside. Whether the sunny days and star-lit nights include a favorite sweet treat, celebrating a hole in one at the miniature golf course or expanding the mind through new discovery, Lakeside Chautauqua provides an unforgettable experience.

We would like to invite you and your loved ones of all ages to participate in the 2015 Family Discovery Programs. These programs will showcase a variety of interesting topics, as well as locations around the beautiful Lakeside grounds. The relaxing environment encourages interactive dialogue for additional learning opportunities.

The Family Discovery Programs will be held at 1:30 p.m. every Friday, beginning June 26 through August 7.

The Family Discover Program schedule for the 2015 Chautauqua Season includes:

Date: Friday, June 26

Topic: World War II Overseas & on the Homefront

Description: Understand more about what life was like for soldiers and those on the home front             during World War II.

Location: Train Station

 

Date: Friday, July 3

Topic: Dr. Wildweed Nature Program

Description: Learn the purpose of plants and herbs and the uniqueness of the plant world.

Location: Bradley Temple

 

Date: Friday, July 10

Topic: Family Cooking with Chef Stacy

Description: Participate in food demonstrations and make recipes using peaches as the central ingredient.

Location: Train Station

 

Date: Friday, July 17

Topic: Mysteries Along Lake Erie’s Shores

Description: See objects that have been found on the shores of Lake Erie – those that are supposed to be there and those that aren’t.

Location: Lower Pavilion

 

Date: Friday, July 24

Topic: Puppetry

Description: Discover behind the scenes aspects of the world of puppetry.

Location: Bradley Temple

 

Date: Friday, July 31

Topic: Family Improv

Description: Let your imagination run wild with this fun program for all ages.

Location: Bradley Temple

 

Date: Friday, August 7

Topic: Introduction to the Symphony

Description: Gain a better understanding of the instruments and the music played by the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra.
