How did you hear about Lakeside, or what is your Lakeside story?

I found out about Lakeside through the Career Service Office’s online list of internships. As I was scrolling down through multiple internships, the Lakeside internship sparked my interest. I thought it would be a great environment to work in.

What are you most looking forward to this summer at Lakeside?

I am excited to see what summer in Lakeside will be like. I do not know what to expect, but I felt that accepting this internship was the right decision, and I want to see what that decision has in store for me.

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

I would like to meet people and hear their stories. I also would like to learn about different technologies and how to best apply them in the work place. Additionally, I would like to learn more about myself — more about how I interact with others and what my strengths and weaknesses are. I hope that after working in Guest Services, I can learn more about what I would like to do in the future.

Name one goal you hope to achieve this summer.

I would like to learn more about different communication channels and how to best apply those channels. I would like to become a better communicator, whether it be with friends or workers.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

The 2015 live-action “Cinderella” is one of my favorite movies. I like to go on quiet nature walks and I enjoy reading uplifting non-fiction stories. My mother and I have always shared an interest in antiques and I like old-fashioned hats. I also enjoy singing.

What is one of your proudest moments or major accomplishments you have achieved thus far in life?

I am proud of being accepted into the Cum Laude Society in high school. I did not  know what the Cum Laude Society was, and I did not apply – maybe students do not apply for it – but getting that letter in the mail saying I was accepted was cool. It was like I was noticed without trying to be or without knowing, which was a cool feeling.

What is your dream job?

To be a counselor.

Tell us a fun fact about you!

Growing up, I played sports like recreational soccer, softball, basketball, and in high school I ran on the cross-country team for a year.

How did you hear about Lakeside, or what is your Lakeside story?

My family has come to Lakeside every year for our week-long family reunions, so Lakeside is like my second home. However, this year is the first year I will be staying for the entire summer, which I am looking forward to immensely.

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

Along with the experience I will gain during my internship, I hope to gain some clarity and direction in my major. I originally chose animation as my major, but I have worked almost a year in the hospitality industry and I am strongly considering changing my major to hospitality management. This summer, I hope I find an answer amidst my uncertainty.
