How did you hear about Lakeside, or what is your Lakeside story?
I first came to Lakeside when I was 4 months old. My parents had decided to vacation in Lakeside one week during that summer. For the next 9 years, Lakeside was our family vacation spot every summer. It has been several years since I have been back here; however, when I learned about this internship program I knew it was the perfect place for me to be this summer.
What are you most looking forward to this summer at Lakeside?
I am most looking forward to learning hands-on with someone in my field, while being able to experience the wonderful environment of Lakeside.
What do you hope to gain from this experience? I am hoping to gain accounting and IT skills that I will be able to carry with me throughout my career. I also hope to gain relationships from the mentors with whom I will be working to get a better sense of what they do in order for me to determine what I want to do in the field of accounting. I hope growing my knowledge will grow my confidence in this field as well.
Name one goal you hope to achieve this summer (personal or professional). I hope to grow through this opportunity by becoming more comfortable while outside of my comfort zone.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time (interests/hobbies)? I love to swim. At school, I am involved in two club swimming teams. I swam competitively for 13 years of my life and it will continue to be a lifelong hobby for me. I also enjoy painting, reading, and lying in my hammock.
What is one of your proudest moments or major accomplishments you have achieved thus far in life (professional, academic, etc.)
My proudest moment in college has been the moment I stepped off an eight hour flight after landing in Budapest, Hungary. There is no greater feeling than travelling independent from your parents and getting immersed into a brand new culture.
What is your dream job? I want to be in an environment where I am both challenging myself and learning every single day. I also want to be in amongst people who value and respect me, and who also grow to be my friends and mentors.
Tell us a fun fact about you. I have travelled to 49 out of the 88 Bicentennial barns, which are located in every county in Ohio.
