Share Your Summer: Host an Orphan

We all know that Lakeside is the best place ever to spend a summer. What if you had the opportunity to share the experience with a child who doesn’t have a family?

Project 143 is a non-profit organization that brings orphans from Eastern Europe to the U.S. for five-week stays – one during the summer and one at Christmastime.

While Project 143 is not an adoption agency, the ultimate goal is to find “forever families” for these children. It’s also to show them how loving families work.

You may have seen one of these children already this summer. Ginters, who is 7, is spending the summer with a Lakeside family.

He loves Mr. Chip and God Squad, playing in the sand, the slide at the pool (his record was 30 times in one day) and riding his bike around.
