How did you hear about Lakeside, or what is your Lakeside story?

Both of my parent’s families came here for years and my parents bought a cottage on Oak in 1994 and named it ‘Eriesistable’. I have been coming to Lakeside all summer, every summer for the last 22 years. I couldn’t imagine summer without Lakeside. My mom always tells us that when my sister and I were little and it was a dreary winter day, we would beg her to bring us to Lakeside since we thought it was beautiful and sunny all the time!

What are you most looking forward to this summer at Lakeside?

I’m looking forward to reconnecting with fellow Lakesiders but now that I’m an intern I am excited to learn what goes on behind the scenes as to what goes into making Lakeside so great. I also can’t wait to see all the Hoover performances (namely Home Free) from backstage and work with Shirley Stary and Casie Eller.

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

I hope to make my love for Lakeside grow on a deeper level and really dive into what a Chautauqua is all about. I also want to gain some more professional experience and since I am still a little undecided as to what I want to do in the future, I hope that maybe this experience will give me some idea as to what I would want to do with the rest of my life.

Name one goal you hope to achieve this summer.

I want to get to at least one lecture since I have never really taken advantage of the wonderful speakers that come here every summer. This year there are going to be some great ones!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I am a huge music fan and Spotify Premium has been one of the best investments I’ve ever made. I play the piano, ukulele and I love to sing. I am an active member of my national honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi, and I am also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Kent Chorus. I also love to read, especially at the dock when I’m lying in the sun! I love to go on walks and hikes, basically anything that involves being outside. Spending time with my boyfriend, friends and family is very important to me so I try to do it as often as I can. I love movies (anything but scary!) and I enjoy lazy days watching Netflix every now and then, but who doesn’t?

What is one of your proudest moments or major accomplishments you have achieved thus far in life?

In fall 2016 I studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a semester and learned so much more about myself than I ever thought I would. I traveled to numerous countries and learned how to handle anything that life threw at me. It was such an eye-opening experience and I tell everyone I meet about it so if you want to talk Europe, I’m your girl!

What is your dream job?

I would love to work for either an arena or auditorium planning shows and musical guests or working for an event planning company working in their programming department.

Tell us a fun fact about you.

I’m left handed and I also play the ukulele, so I learned how to play it upside down! I am the female Jimmy Hendrix.

How did you hear about Lakeside, or what is your Lakeside story?

Growing up in a United Methodist Church, Lakeside was a place you tended to hear about for a couple of weeks during late May and early June. I was able to visit Lakeside on a youth retreat during my freshman year of High School and fell in love with the area. Funny enough, I found out about the internship on the night applications were due, and rushed home after class that day to get my resume in!

What are you most looking forward to this summer at Lakeside?

Getting to see all of the wonderful talented acts coming to Hoover this summer, such as Michael W. Smith, Home Free, and the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra, and meet and learn diverse viewpoints from all of the different Preachers of the Week that are coming to Lakeside this season! I am also very excited to be able to lead a Bible Study with other college students discussing biblical topics as it relates to current events in our ever crazy world!

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

I want to be able to build on my organizational and communication skills from working alongside with my supervisors and fellow interns to ensure a successful season at Lakeside, gain leadership by leading faith experiences with college aged and high school aged students, and grow in my own personal faith with Jesus Christ.

Name one goal you hope to achieve this summer.

Watch through all of the Marvel and Avengers movies to get myself ready to watch the new Spider-man movie this summer!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I am an avid gamer and always will free some time in my busy schedule to be able to sit down and enjoy a couple hours of play time. Lately, I have been hooked on the game Overwatch! I enjoy watching movies of any kind, but especially action and comedy movies. I also have a passion for music, and enjoy participating in singing, and participating in choirs and handbell ensembles!

What is one of your proudest moments or major accomplishments you have achieved thus far in life?

I have always been very proud to call myself not only a member, but current President of Capitals chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia! I found the organization as a nervous college freshmen, and I was immediately welcomed with open arms and I have never felt more at home. With this organization, I have been able to spread the joy of music to elderly in living centers, as well as hospitals all over the Columbus region. On top of that, we have donated over $2000 to a Columbus wide non-profit organization that helps music programs all over the city and surrounding suburbs!  I am so proud to have the opportunity to be able to lead these men and watch them grow and spread their love of music to the world and their commitment to each other.

What is your dream job?

Being able to work with teenagers and young adults to help grow their faith with Jesus, and grow in fellowship with each other. I also would love to be able to lead them in their musical passions to also spread music and love wherever they go, and that their faith may be spread with their music.

Tell us a fun fact about you.

I once fixed a broken DVD disc by rubbing some cold leftover pizza on the back of the disc. Not quite sure why or how that worked, but I do remember laughing for a good ten minutes when I realized it worked.
