The Lakeside Chautauqua Craft & Art Show has been a tradition for the last 45 years. During that time, we’ve been able to bring some incredibly talented vendors to Ohio’s Most Beautiful Mile. One of those talented artists is Amy Beeler.

Beeler is from Oregon, Ohio and has been a vendor at the Lakeside Chautauqua Craft & Art Show for more than 10 years. Having always been a creative person, she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University where she fell in love with metalsmithing.  After college, Beeler worked as a commercial bench jeweler in the Toledo area, where she was able to develop her skills in working with metals.

She started doing art fairs in 2005 and it quickly became her full-time focus. As an independent artist, she travels across the country participating in art and craft shows, mainly focusing on the Midwest and Florida.

Beeler’s jewelry is hand fabricated silver, which she then darkens with a patina, a tarnish that is byproduct of oxidation on the metal. She also includes pearls or Great Lakes beach stones to enhance the beauty of her work.

“I strive to create pieces that are nature-inspired, wearable art by turning a seed pod into something beautifully unique to my style,” she said.

Over the years, Beeler’s work has garnered several awards and accolades. She has won 14 Best of Shows, or top awards, in addition to other awards at various craft and art shows.

Additionally, Amy’s seed pod jewelry has also been a solo exhibition at the University of Maine Museum Of Art.

You can visit Amy Beeler at the Lakeside Chautauqua Craft & Art Show Thursday, July 26-Saturday, July 28. For a preview of her work visit her website.
