This summer, the Lakesider newspaper delivery schedule will receive changes.

The changes being made to the newspaper will allow more youth to be involved on Fridays and Saturdays, and ensure that the children are safe while handing out the publication.

On Friday mornings, youth ages 10-15 are invited to gather at the Legacy House to help bundle the newspapers and deliver stacks to locations in the Lakeside Business District. Bundles and newspaper stacks will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

If interested in this delivery opportunity, report to the Legacy House at 9 a.m. Fridays during the summer, beginning June 19.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, 12 children ages 6-10 will hand out the Lakesider on the Hoover Auditorium front porch from 7:30-8 p.m. prior to the evening performances. If interested, please check in on the front porch at 7:15 p.m. Please note: the last weekend for delivery is Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15.

Upon completion of each of these delivery opportunities, children and youth will still receive their choice of a free Coffee & Cream soft serve ice cream coupon or miniature golf coupon.

With these changes in delivery, Lakesider newspapers will no longer be delivered to cottages on Saturday mornings.

Newspapers will still be available at several locations across campus, including the Welcome Center, Lakeside Chautauqua Administration Office, Lakeside Information Center, hotels and throughout the Lakeside Business District.

However, if you need assistance in receiving a newspaper, contact or call (419) 798-4461, ext. 345.

An additional opportunity for youth to get involved at Lakeside is to volunteer as a photographer. Youth ages 10-15 are invited to use their own camera and take pictures around the campus.

Visit the Legacy House between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday with your memory card, and the staff will download your favorite pictures for use on the website, blog, social media and Lakesider newspaper.

The last weekend for delivery is Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15.
