Water is all around Lakeside. One can find bubbling water in The Memorial Garden at Chautauqua Park, trickling water near the entrance of the Fountain Inn, shooting water in the fountain at the Hotel Lakeside front lawn, spraying water in the Splash Park and splashing water off the dock. Water reminds us of what is needed and necessary for life. We must drink plenty of water to live.
However, in the text for today, Jesus reminds us of the water we need to grow spiritually. He speaks of Living Water that gives each one of us abundant life. Yet from our receiving Living Water, we are called to share living water with others.
“As the Scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’” – John 7:38
This Sunday is Pentecost. Christians celebrate the birthday of Christ’s Church on Earth. Everyone can celebrate Lakeside, God’s sacred place where we can refresh, renew and return living water to others.
Prayer: Come, Holy Spirit! Help me to not only enjoy all the beauty around me, but to share living water with those whom I meet each day. Amen
Now it is your turn to join The Front Porch conversation. What are some ways this week you can share living water with your family, friends and neighbors? How will that bring peace and harmony to the world? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
