Lakeside Chautauqua warmly welcomed Jeannie Fleming-Gifford to the team as Vice President of Programming in February.

“Programming is at the heart of who we are as a Chautauqua community,” President & CEO Kip Greenhill said. “We knew we needed a talented, driven and creative individual to fill this critical role. We know she is the perfect person for this position and will exceed our expectations.”

Fleming-Gifford holds a master’s degree in family and consumer sciences with a specialization in child development and a bachelor’s degree in music (French horn).

For the past 20 years, Fleming-Gifford has held leadership positions at several non-profits. She was most recently the Executive Director of the Fairmount Center for the Arts. She has also held leadership positions with The Fine Arts Association, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Center of Science and Industry.

“I have personally experienced and witnessed the transformational impact of Chautauqua programming at Lakeside,” Fleming-Gifford said. “I feel blessed and grateful to lead the Programming Team. I am excited to meet new people, learn from them and hear their stories.”

Finding joy and connecting that joy with others is essential to Fleming-Gifford’s work ethic and vision for Lakeside’s programming. She and her family discovered Lakeside’s magic several years ago, and they love Lakeside’s holistic approach.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Lakeside team,” Fleming-Gifford said. “As a non-profit executive and long-time Lakesider, I am eager to combine my experience, expertise and passions to support Lakeside’s mission.”

She added, “Programming is about the people who make it and the people who experience it,” she said. “It gets people to think, grow, learn, and just have fun and play.”

Fleming-Gifford appreciates that Lakeside offers not only time for personal rejuvenation, but also unifying opportunities for meaningful conversations, creativity, spiritual and intellectual growth and wellness.

“There is a lot of excitement for this summer, a lot of joy,” Fleming-Gifford said. “Get ready for an awesome summer, Lakesiders!”
