Linda MiddlebergCrunching numbers and analyzing information systems is where the Rev. Linda Middelberg first began her career before becoming and an ordained Elder in The United Methodist Church.

She serves as Superintendent of the Capitol Area North District of The United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky., and her Master of Divinity from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Over the years, she has worked as a Productivity & Quality Management Officer and Assistant Vice President of the Deposit Services Department at Bank One, as well as an adjunct instructor at Morehead State University, Sinclair Community College and Write State University.

The Rev. Middelberg has served as Associate Pastor at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio and Executive Pastor of King Avenue United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio.

Lakeside Chautauqua welcomes the Rev. Middelberg as Preacher of the Week from August 23-28.

At the 10:30 a.m. Hoover Community Worship Service on Sunday, Aug. 23, the Rev. Middleberg will provide a message about Esther 4:9-17. In her sermon, titled “For Such a Time as This,” she will focus on God’s call to Esther and to people today.

For those who wish to attend worship, a complimentary Church Pass may be obtained 7:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday; valid until 3 p.m. The pass includes admittance for guests and auto.

The Rev. Middelberg will also provide the message at 9:15 a.m. Monday-Wednesday for Chaplain’s Hour Worship in Orchestra Hall.
