DSC_0087Volunteers are essential to the quality of the Lakeside Chautauqua experience, helping in just about every part of programming.

In the spring, they assist with the beautification of the grounds during Lakeside Spring Cleanup Day. Volunteers also maintain Lakeside’s many gardens in the summer months and teach children to sail for the first time at the Kids Setting Sail program.

In the fall, they return to Lake Erie to assist with the operations of the Lakeside-Marblehead Lighthouse Festival.

These are just a few of the many ways volunteers make an impact at Lakeside Chautauqua all year.

Imagine Lakeside without gardens, Rhein Center classes, worship services, recreational events and even Hoover shows. Volunteers make these things possible. They make Lakeside possible.

From 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, Lakeside will hold a Volunteer Recognition Picnic to show appreciation for these people and their devotion to our Chautauqua community.

We appreciate the time and talent each volunteer gives to make a significant impact on the community.

All are encouraged to pause this week and give thanks to the volunteers who make the Lakeside Chautauqua experience possible.
